We have been going on many adventures lately! We have been all around Teguc seeing the different sides of the city and the different ways of life.
Tuesday morning we went to a typical market with Dulce (our fabulous and wonderful) cook and her husband Fransisco. We saw some pretty interesting things hanging in windows (like huge hunks of raw meat- ick!) Fransisco took Mary Crawford and I to buy all of the drinks while Dulce gathered everything we needed at the vegetable stands. We had never seen so many stacks of Coca-Cola and Coke Light! We walked around the market buying everything we needed for the upcoming team.

After we got back from our shopping adventure, we had a delicious sopa (or soup) that Dulce made us. It had all sorts of vegetables, broth and rice! It was SO GOOD!
We were planning on hosting a meeting for a family that is going to baptize their daughter at SBV this Sunday. Suzy came over with her girls and they invited us to go to church with them. The ride to the CEAD (the church) was also an adventure! MC rode in the back of the truck with Elsa and Olympia. I was not so brave and sat in the back seat with Sammy. Sammy and I had just as great a time playing with his teddy bear and his new ball as the girls did riding in the back of the truck!

This church was a culture shock! It was basically the same as an America mega-church. There were about six projection screens and TVs with videos and the lyrics to all of the songs we sang. The people in attendance at this church were nothing like the people we are used to serving or seeing along the streets of Tegucigalpa. They were all dressed up in what you may consider fancy clothing, all having lots of jewelry and designer bags. The service was very exciting with lots of singing and and clapping. We returned to Casa Lamb full of joy but with empty stomachs! This began the adventures of Alyssa and Mary Crawford trying to find food! We spent a good twenty minutes figuring out and placing our order with Pizza Hut for delivery -- only to find out at the end Pizza Hut stops delivering at 9pm :( Eventually we found ourselves some good Froot Loops and we were happy!

Today we woke and had morning prayer and Suzy stopped by as a surprise and prayed with us. After some quiet time we headed out to a hardware store that looked a lot like Home Depot or Lowe's. After picking up our items there we headed to our next stop. On the way we grabbed some lunch. Who would have thought that my first ever visit to Popeyes would be in Honduras?! It was actually very good! We a great conversation with Jimmy, who is the sweetest and kindest man who helps around Casa Lamb with the handy man kind of things. He asked about our favorite Honduran food and our favorite American food and MC and I got a little too excited when we talked about spaghetti and pizza and a coughing fit ensued for both of us! The food was very good and I had the best Coke I think I have ever had! (Something about using real sugar instead of that high fructose corn syrup we have at home- ew!) After lunch we headed to another store called Key-Mart (pronounced K-Mart) which was basically a Wal-Mart and Marshall's combined to have some pretty cool things. MC and I started planning our future house down here.

Tonight we are headed to the Alonzo Movement meeting in Flor del Campo and then potentially playing futbol with the guys which will be interesting for me and my complete lack of soccer skills!
To sum up this whole post: I am having the best time here and I am so thankful for the opportunity and all the support I am receiving!
PS: My apologies for the poor image quality- iPhone problems.
